After the 2008 fall-out in the housing market, the mortgage industry’s focus quickly shifted from loan origination to loan servicing. Seeking to meet the market’s increased demand for loan servicing solutions, our client – the services division of a leading mortgage solution provider – embarked on significant enhancements to one of its key business platforms. These enhancements would allow the client to provide new tools and support for servicing mortgages, but they had to be delivered quickly and with the utmost quality and performance to ensure the client’s success. The system, a legacy platform that processes over 50% of all mortgages in the United States, hadn’t undergone core changes to the application in several years. The proposed enhancements necessitated thorough testing, but the client didn’t have the experience or the capacity to perform the vital regression and integration testing they required. Incomplete or incorrect testing could increase system errors, damage customer relationships, delay the critical time-to-market window, and cause revenue and possible market share losses.
